About Me

About me

It All Started In NYC.

I feel into photography by chance – After finishing graduate school with an engineering degree I was in New York for a job interview in early January. As I was about to head out of town a winter storm decided my overnight trip was now a 3 day long weekend. Stuck in the city with nothing but time and a point and shoot camera (I’d been given as a gift), I headed out into the white wash to see what photography had to offer.

I stood in font of Radio City Music Hall looking across 6th avenue – a cyclone of snow had just sent tourists scrambling down the street. I raised the camera and fumbling with the buttons reeled off a few frames. Looking down at what I’d captured, the idea of being able to instantly transport someone into such an iconic scene through a single photograph hit me hard – no doubt I was hooked.

Years later every time I look at that photograph it brings me back to that night, and I remember why I continue to pick up a camera. Not only the power of conveying an experience through an image, but creating something timeless that allows you to relive the emotion you felt in a moment you can only live once is everything.
